These clients came to us with a bold plan and a tight window. They had just purchased the property and were due to settle in mid to late October, with a clear goal of giving the home a full refresh before Christmas. We met the real estate agent on site to go through the home and take stock of what we were doing, locking in the scope before the keys ever needed to change hands. This early meeting allowed us to plan everything we had to, so that the day settlement arrived we had a truck on site and got stuck straight in to the strip out.
The scope was straightforward but there was a lot in it. Full external repaint, freshen up of the existing bathroom and ensuite, recarpeting throughout, removing old clunky joinery, replacing tiles with beautiful timber flooring, adding softer curves through the entry, a new entry door and upgrading all lighting fixtures and fittings through the whole home. Eight weeks to get it done, ambitious right?
The biggest challenge was the existing tiles. They came up in shattering shards and made for brutal work, but the team cracked in and got through it. Part way through the decision was made to replace the existing cladding as well. On an eight week timeline with Christmas only 3 weeks away, that completely stretched us, but we got there and boy the result was worth it. We also stripped the yard completely, removed overgrown trees that had been hanging over the home, laid turf, ran irrigation throughout and even added a side fence to keep Teddy the beautiful golden retriever in.
The before and after on this one is chalk and cheese. Our clients were thrilled and the neighbours were surprised we pulled it off in the time we did. What a good renovation can do fora home in the right hands is something we love showing people, and Jennifer is a great example of exactly that.
