Fellows 2.0

Fellows 2.0 is a beautiful new build in Point Lonsdale, and while it doesn't come with the usual building story, it is absolutely one of those projects that reminds us why we do what we do.

We came onto this build after the previous builder went under, leaving K & A with nothing but a slab and a situation nobody wants to be in. They were referred to us by the architect, we went through our pre-construction process together, and a few months later construction recommenced. Some genuine trust was built in those early days, setting the tone for the relationship between our team and the clients for the entire project.

On a sloping block with a concrete slab already in the ground and blockwork half-finished and done poorly, our first job was to assess everything the previous builder had left behind. Making sure it was compliant, understanding what we were working with, and being honest about what needed to change. The slab wasn't square or parallel to where the walls needed to be, so some careful adjustments to the floor plan were made to suit. The blockwork that had been laid wasn't good enough to leave exposed, so we made the call to render the entire home in Rockcote concrete render inside and out. What started as a practical decision became one of the defining features of the build.

The design is stunning. Raked ceilings climbing to 3.6 metres through the main living, kitchen and dining. Floor to ceiling doors. Highlight windows. The electric servery window opening the kitchen out to the outdoor BBQ area. The louvre roof system tying the entertaining space together. And our last piece, the landscaping package pulling everything in and making the whole property sing.

It's hard to believe K & A started this journey forming their ideas on a cardboard model of their home. After everything they went through with their previous builder, to come out the other side with this result means a lot to us. We're really proud of what we were able to do for them on this one
